Showing my parents I was ready.
By: Savannah Cook
It was Christmas day when I got Max, my beautiful Chocolate Labrador. I asked my
nan for one when we were in Romford, I told her I wanted to prove to my mum I was
ready for a dog!
So on Christmas day I sat in my nans chair waiting on the great gifts she had bought
me, I went through loads, some of which I asked for and others came to a surprise.
I had unwrapped all the gifts she got me, but none of them were the Chocolate Labrador
I had asked for, I was devastated! Out came my granddad with a box that is used
to carry animals in, my mouth fell open, I was so happy! I couldn't wait to see
what was inside the box.
The box was placed on my lap, I carefully opened one of the handles and peeked inside,
I saw something, I didn't know what it was. It was small, curled up, its stomach
was moving! I got excited and opened the box more, I found the one present I had
asked for!
It was the perfect pet!
I took him home and registered him on the web site then I got him out of the box,
I placed him on my bed, as he was asleep, to make sure he didn't get too cold I
placed a blanket over his tiny body.
I read the manual that came with max, and it said he was shy so he would only come
out at night; I respected that, so before I went to bed I left a small bowl of food,
and a small bowl of water for him to eat and drink when he felt ready.
I knew he would want to go to the toilet, but I also knew my mum didn't want me
to leave the door open all night, so I put him in the garden during the day, I made
sure no one was looking, including me and I let him do his business.
A few months past, and my mum began to see how responsible I was being with my new
do, I bought him things, such as bandanas, blankets, beds etc. My mum thought I
was being so responsible she bought me a real dog!
Her name is Teardrop, she is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and I love her to bits.
Her and Max are the best of friends, and my nan even lets me look after four of
her dogs! I am so thankful to Perfect Petzzz, they really are perfect!
